One of Chicago Communications’ newest team members is also one of the most experienced.

Jim Lameka has been a member of the Chicago Communications team since early 2021. But his “temporary” job with Miner Electronics lasted more than 27 years.

In an ideal world, no equipment would ever need to be repaired. 

We certainly don’t live in that world. But we do live in a world where people don’t need to experience frustration and delays when it comes to two‑way radio repair.

It all comes down to service.

It’s tough to imagine where we’d be as a society right now without the rapid response of pharmaceutical companies in developing COVID‑19 vaccines. 

Randy Swets learned early on about the value of radios in public safety. His father was a career firefighter in the south suburbs of Chicago.

As you are likely aware, there have been significant delays in the delivery of many types of products over the past year and most experts predict that these delays will, unfortunately, extend well into 2022, and even 2023.  We, therefore, wanted to give you an update on the supply chain issues we are experiencing with Motorola Solutions and other vendor products, as we know many of you currently have open orders with us.

In today’s interconnected world, some folks assume that it’s easy to tie together WiFi, video, and two‑way radio communications.

Not quite. 

Julie Shannon has witnessed many changes during her long career in the communications industry.

Before becoming a member of the Chicago Communications team in April, She spent 28 years serving in many different capacities at Miner Electronics: purchasing, receiving, dispatching, invoicing, and even doing payroll.

When we think of parks and recreational areas, we think of being in nature, experiencing peace and serenity. We go there to clear our minds, stroll with friends, or picnic with our families. 

When a park is managed right, visitors don’t have to worry about whether the park is safe and secure.

Keeping park facilities and visitors safe is the job of the park district, along with their communications provider.

Since the merger of Chicago Communications with Miner Electronics in early 2021, personnel from the two companies have enjoyed the benefits of combining forces. 

A great example is account executive John Schoon, who brings a wealth of experience to the Chicago Communications team from his background working with public safety organizations to optimize their communications systems.
