Service Agreement

Chicago Communications is under contract to maintain your communication system. You choose the services you need. There is a monthly fee, which varies depending on the work required. However, it is usually less than the cost of similar service calls made without a contract. Additionally, it helps you plan and budget for services.


Why do you need more than a Manufacturer's Warranty?

  • Most manufacturers' warranties cover repairs at the factory. This does not include local service support for pick-up and delivery of warrantied items.
  • Most manufacturers' warranties require returning equipment for repair.
  • If an item needs to be returned, do you have spares to keep the system operating at full capacity?
  • Warranties often give a false sense of security regarding a network's long-term health.
  • Repairs will be more expensive if something breaks outside of the warranty.

 

 Objective of a Service Agreement

  • Prepare for the unexpected.
  • Items can fail even during the warranty period. Make sure you are protected against all possible issues.
  • Electronics must be maintained and monitored regularly to ensure optimal performance.
  • Preventive maintenance helps you avoid being "surprised" by unexpected failures. Today’s technology evolves rapidly.
  • Most software and firmware-driven technologies require regular upgrades to stay ahead of the technology curve.  
  • Ensure you're maximizing your investment.

 

We offer Four Service Contract Options

Essential Service Package

  • Most common for small radio systems.
  • Local Service Pickup and Delivery (or UPS call tag service) for mobile and portable radios.
  • Out-of-warranty repairs included.
  • Does not cover Liquid, Fire, or Physical damage.
  • On-site infrastructure repair available Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
  • Same or next day response with no extra charges for standard service repair.

 

Advance Service Package

  • Most common package for business-critical systems.
  • Same coverage as the Essential Package, with added 24/7 support for infrastructure repairs.
  • 4-Hour Response Time Guarantee.
  • One preventive maintenance service is performed annually on all infrastructure.

 

Premier Service Package

  • This is the most common package for customers requiring maximum uptime from their network.
  • Includes the same coverage as the Advanced Package.
  • Biennial preventive maintenance service for your subscriber radios beginning in Year 3.
  • Reprogramming of radios is permitted once per quarter.
  • Recommended upgrades for normally released infrastructure and subscriber firmware.
  • Advanced replacement process for (non-Public Safety) radios needing repair.
  • Remote Diagnostics and Monitoring of Infrastructure: Requires additional hardware and software. A VPN tunnel from our facility to yours is also needed. A one-time activation fee covers all setup.

 

Manage Service Package

  • This is for the customer who wants worry-free management of their entire communications network.
  • Same coverage as the Premier Package.
  • Radio Management to support all devices on the network.
  • Management of programming code plugs.
  • Priority 2-hour response time.
